Still following Tim and his Tags!

I had such a blast doing this one!  I'm behind by a couple of tags (not including today's), but couldn't wait to post this one.  I don't have Tim's Snowman Die but I do have his Snowman stamp for the Mini Holiday's 2 Collection so I stamped him on grungepaper, painted him with acrylic paint and built him up.  I also used a Street Lamp Stamp that I have from another stamp company, and a little pinecone stamp I had in my stash.  I absolutely love his idea of recycling the packaging from his Dies. I've saved all of my packaging from Tim's products because it just looks so cool LOL  Well I stayed up late tonight (2a.m.) so I could see Day 12's Tag (sniff sniff, so sad it's the last day), and I need to get my self to bed since the Ducks, Horses, Dogs, Chickens and Cats will be ready for breakfast in a few hours.  Here's my version of the Day Ten Tag:

Day Five "Tim Tag" is finished!

I just couldn't wait to get started on this one, what a blast I had trying to recreate Tim's Tag and techniques with what I had on hand!  Here's the tag:

I don't have the same stamps that Tim used, however I do have his Mini Holiday set so I used them. I don't have the distress Stickles so used regular Stickles in Christmas Red and Green.  I don't have the Grungeboard Label that he used so I cut a label with Tim's Tag and Bookplate Die, used Tim's Design Ruler to help me slice it in half width ways, then I used a border strip of the music sheet paper from Tim's Lost and Found Paper Pad.  I don't have metal numbers or UTEE so I took Grungeboard numbers, painted them with 3 layers of Acrylic Paint then covered them with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I gently pressed the powder down with my fingers, aimed the heat gun and let it do it's thing. The grungeboard numbers did curl slightly while the heat gun was on them but once they cooled they flattened back down.  Once they were dry I painted on a thin layer of black acrylic paint then gently rubbed most of it off with a damp cloth.  I didn't have any teeny tiny brads so I painted some half pearls with black acrylic paint and used them on top of the numbers.

This has turned out to be my favorite tag of all that I've made so far this week.  I was also thrilled to see that Tim used jingle bells..I've been itching to use my stash of rusty jingle bells on a tag :-)

Soooooooooo is it time for tomorrow's tag yet?

Following along with T!m

It's my favorite time of year again and I've been having so much fun following along with T!m Holtz and his 12 Tags of Christmas :-)   I don't own all of the supplies that Tim does so it's been a real challenge to use what's on hand in my stash.
Day 1 , Tag 1
Day 2, Tag 2
Day 3, Tag 3

Day 4, Tag 4
I cut all of my Tags using Tim's Tag and Bookplate Die which I just adore!  I've got a few Distress Inks, the handy dandy Ink Blending Tool (I use this tool daily and would be lost without it!), his mini Holiday Stamp Set, Stickles and a few of his Adage Tickets.  I'm going to have to ask Santa for some Alcohol Inks, Paint Dabbers, Seasonal Paper and Stickers, Cut and Dry Foam...oh what the heck, why not ask for Everything T!m LOL

I was feeling as if I'd never get into the Christmas mood this year which is strange for me since I'm one of those goofballs that would like to put the Tree up in July...but T!m and his Tags have given me my Christmas mood back woohoooooo!

Steampunk Tag

Here's a simple Steampunk Tag I created for a friend of mine.  I used a Tag from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante Tags page, Distressed Inks applied with a Tim Holtz Ink Blender and a lovely Chadelier and Dictionary Text stamp from Inkadinkado.

CCC #19

I created a Winter Tag for the Studio L3 Compendium of Curiosities challenge.  I don't own any of Tim's masks yet so I created one with his small snowman stamp.   I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, Black Soot Distress Ink, Pine Needles Distress Ink,White Paint, Crystal Stickles and Aqua Stickles along with the Snowman, Snowflakes and Music Sheet stamps from Tim's Mini Holidays 2 stamp collection.  The Christmas Tree is from the Inkadinkado Artistic Holiday Stamp Sheet.

Simon Says Stamp- Holiday Blog Hop Challenge

I love making things for the Holidays, especially Christmas! I had to jump in on this challenge, perfect excuse to get in the Christmas mood :-) For this Challenge I decided to use my stamping/paper supplies to create a Christmas Wreath.

I created a digital layout for Edwin and Tilda to skate on, printed it on heavy cardstock and then adhered it to Chipboard for sturdiness. I used one of my favorite Magnolia Stamps from Simonsaysstamp, Edwin and Tilda Skating. I colored them with my Copics, cut them out and adhered them with very thick glue dots to allow a bit of shadow behind them. I used Ranger Stickles on Tilda's collar and cuffs for a bit of sparkle. The Flowers are cut from Basic Grey Papers using Tim's Tattered Florals Die in my Cuttlebug. I added some Stickles to the edges of the petals and used Basic Grey Opaline half pearls in the centers. I finished the wreath off with some sheer ribbon.

CCC#13 Grungepaper Flowers

I was thrilled to come across the StudioL3 Challenge Blog and was ready to jump right in. One problem, no Tattered Florals Die! I clicked on a link posted by a fellow crafter for the Croppinsville online store and solved that problem. Not only did they have the Tattered Florals Die, they also had the Grungepaper I needed. The frosting on the cake was that the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die was on sale! I ordered those babies and they were here in a day and a half, can you feel my excitement?!

I decided to work with a 4x4 Stretched Canvas. I cut my flower parts using Tim's die and my Cuttlebug. I inked one side of each flower with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and painted the other side with Light Roseberry Acrylic Paint. Once the ink and paint were dry I ran the largest and smallest flowers through my cuttlebug using a Script Embossing Folder that had been inked up with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I also inked the edges of the pink petals with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I ran the brown flower though the cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, then lightly ran some of the paint across the top and sanded it once dry. After punching holes in the centers of the flowers I wrapped some fuzzy fiber around the back of a screw brad, put the brad through the flowers then trimmed the fuzzy fiber to my liking. I did up a digital layout using Maya's Steampunk Kit from Scrapbookgraphics, adhered it to the canvas using Glossy Accents, inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I adhered brown Ribbon to the edges of the canvas with Glossy Accents then added my Tattered Grungepaper Flower.

7Kidscollegfund first Blog Challenge

I was so excited to see that 7kidscollegefund had a Challenge Blog! Here is my submission:

I used Basic Grey Lucky paper for my background, along with some Pink Bazzill Cardstock and GP white Cardstock. I ran the white cardstock through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder and used a Martha Stewart Border punch on the pink for some extra "dots". I also used a Martha Stewart punch to make the greenery for the Prima Mulberry Rose. I colored Happy Tilda with Copics in the following colors:
O,C1,E00,E11,E21,E33,E04,E95,E93,R20

Thank you for looking, have a super day!

Time for a new Blog

I figure it's time to create a blog just for my Paper Art. My other blog was getting confusing combining all of my different crafts together LOL
