12 Tags of 2012 with Tim Holtz...April

Don't you just love the month of April?  Here on the farm we have Bluebirds, Turkeys and Ducklings hatching and I am constantly amazed at the beauty of new birth! I was tickled to see that Tim used a Bird in this months Tag...in case you didn't know, I'm bird crazy! I just had 18 ducklings hatch under one of my favorite Duck Hens and I've got 18 Turkey eggs in the incubator :-)  Oops, enough of "my" bird talk and onto the Tag LOL

If you aren't following along with Tim...you must go check out his blog!

I used got some of Tim's birds cut out of grungeboard in a swap and decided to color one with my Ranger Distress Ink Markers (oh oh oh I love these markers!!), I cut one of the Tim Holtz Tree's apart to make my branch. I did a lot of improvising on this month's Tag.  I inked up my Tim Holtz Wood Grain Embossing Folder and ran my tag through it with my Vagabond without embossing the bottom bit, then I ran the bottom of the tag through my Tim Holtz Valentine Background and Border embossing folders (Lace border).  I inked up the main part of the Tag with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and inked up the bottom border portion with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I cut a Ticket using Tim's Ticket Strip Die and Banner using a Spellbinder's Die. The Ticket was stamped with Tim's Time ATC Stamp and inked up with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I adhered the Banner with Tim's Tiny Attacher, inked up some seam binding with Distress Stains in Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans then added a bit of Moss to the branch.

Simon Says Stamp and Show...your favorite word

I created this Imagine Card for the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. I used Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Papers (love love LOVE these papers!!) and I stamped the word imagine from one of my Tim Holtz Stamp Sets. I used Tim's Distressing tools to rough up the edges of the black cardstock.
Be sure to check out all of the wonderful submission on the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog!!

Simon Says...Follow Dawny's Sketch

When I saw the sketch challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog I knew exactly what I wanted to create.  I adore the Graphic 45 Little Darlings papers and have been wanting to make a Baby Card with them so that's what I did for this challenge.  Now I want to create a Grandma's Brag Book with them!  I also used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Punch and some Want2Scrap Bling.

Time is Measured

As soon as I got this Die (thank you Anita, I love it!!) I knew the first thing I wanted to do with it was make a card for my Mom. My Mom loves to sew, this is perfect for her :-)  I'm entering this card into the Crafty Friends Challenge Blog. The challenge is to use 2 Dies. Technically I used 3 for this card... the Spellbinders Lacey Circles Die, the Tim Holtz Sewing Edge Die and I used the Sizzix Circle Die to cut bronze tulle circles for my little flower. The Sentiment is from the Darcie's Cherish Time Stamp set. The Pearl in the flower is from Want2Scrap. I used Ranger Distress Markers and Bic Metallic Markers to color the items on the sewing edge die cut.

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
I was thrilled to see the Challenge over at Inspiration Emporium Blog was for Watercoloring. I love watercoloring, especiallly with Distress Inks, Stains and Markers!  My Bunny is simply inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and the ink blending tool.  I cut the eggs from a balloon punch and snipped the bottom part off then watercolored them with Distress Markers. The Tag background was made with a combination of Distress Stains splattered on my craft sheet then some light blending with water.

Vintage Beauty

When I found this Embossing Folder online I just HAD to have it. Isn't it gorgeous? I wanted to make a simple card with it so I embossed it, blended some Tattered Rose Distress Ink over the embossing, inked the edges with Vintage Photo, then dyed some seam binding with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The words are stickers from my stash. The half pearls are from Want2Scrap.

I am entering this card into the following Challenges:

Just a Note

I love BoBunny's Country Garden papers for a fresh and pretty look.  The BoBunny Blog asked for "Shaped cards with a handmade Flower" for their Tuesday Card Challenge. Here is my take on that challenge......

Bon Voyage Card

I just love this Past Times Stamp set by Hero Arts! They're going to be great for Masculine cards as well as Vacation, Travel or Vintage Cards.  For this card I used a waterbrush and Distress Inks to color the Air Balloons, Alcohol Ink and the blending tool to create the background behind the balloons and one of my all time favorite  Tim Holtz Embossing Folders.  If you haven't tried out Ranger's new Specialty Stamping Paper yet, run and get some, it's fabulous!!!

I'm entering this card into the Challenge on A Blog Named Hero Arts and into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog
