Scrappy Girl Tribute Canvas

I hatched Scrappy Duck in the house 4 yrs ago, she was born with a limp and had a condition called Angel Wing however she didn't let any of that stop her from living happily and keeping up with the rest of the flock.  She spent her first 3 months in the house with me then moved to the duck pen with the flock but never stopped being my "lap duck". Scrappy was unusual for a Pekin, she loved to go broody and hatch babies, this year I kept one of her babies and am so glad I did. This project took a couple of weeks to complete because it's many layers of Molding Paste, Gesso, and embellishments of plastic, metal, fabric and paper.  The Canvas is 16x20 and it took MANY embellishments to fill it. I also used some of Scrappy's feathers that I had collected over the years and some shell from one of her eggs that I had blown with the intention of painting.

I love you Scrappy Girl, thank you for short 4 yrs of joy you gave to me....
Below is a list of the supplies I used on this Canvas:
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metal Embellishments
Tim Holtz Fractured Doll
Making Memories Hinges
Tim Holtz light bulbs
Chicken Wire
Feathers and pieces of egg shell

Simon Says Stamp and Show...Metal-ology

I love metal, the real stuff, the rusty stuff and the faux stuff! This challenge was right up my alley :-)   I made this faux Book Box for someone very special. I did use some of Tim's (as in Sir Tim Holtz) metal gears, a spinner and one of his keyholes which are all metal. The Man on the Bike is metal. The Hinges and larger gears are Grungeboard painted to look like metal.  The pocket watch frame is a Wendy Vecchi Art Part. Be sure to check out all of the fabulous creations over at Simon Says Stamp and Show!

12 Tags of 2012 with Tim Holtz- December

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I can't believe another year has come and gone...they seem to be flying right by me!  Do Ya'll find it sad when we get to the last of the 12 Tags like I do?  Doing the 12 Tags with Tim is the one crafting constants in my craft world, I always get so much inspiration from him and of course with each Tag I learn something and I love that.

If you happen to read this Tim, thank you VERY much for the ideas, the inspiration , the wonderful tools and supplies and for EVERYTHING you do for us crafters!

I loved both of the Tags Tim did, however I just wasn't able to get two finished.  I absolutely must get those Blueprint Stamps in the new year! If you haven't seen them, you MUST check out his Blog!  I chose to do the Poinsettia Tag for this month.  Again I did some improvising since I don't "yet" own the same supplies Tim has *snicker*.  I used a textured cardstock for my Tag base this time and like the way it turned out with the Stains :-)   I've listed all of the supplies I used below the photo.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Supplies I used:
Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplate Die

Rusty Canvas

I love rust, for years I've collected rusty metal items from barbed wire to old oil cans.  I was tickled to see the challenge on Simon Says Stamp and Show was RUST!  I made this altered 12x12 stretched canvas for my Best Friend. I used acrylic paints, distress inks, Tim Holtz Dies and lots of Tim Holtz Grungeboard to create this altered canvas. I think I need to make one for myself as well.   I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge

12 Tags of 2012- July

Here is my July Tag for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 fun over at Tim's Blog.
I love that Tim encourages us to be inspired by his Tag, I love love love his but don't have the same supplies that he used so this is my version.
I cut the Tag out using the Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplate Die then inked it up with Ranger Distress Ink in Festive Berries.  I spritzed the tag with water and inked the edges in Black Soot.  I used one of the 4's from the Grungeboard Digits and Punctuation set, inked it up with Faded Jeans Distress Stain, then used the Ranger's Inkssentials White Pen to highlight the Harlequin design and inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I stamped the Tim Holtz CityScape with Black Soot, stamped the Tim Holtz Stars with Distress Embossing Ink and white embossing powder, then stamped a few of the stars from the Graphic 45 Le Cirque 1 stamp set and used white embossing powder on them.  Before attaching the number 4 I sprayed the whole tag with Ranger's Perfect Pearls Pearl Mist. I colored the Seam Binding with Festive Berries and Faded Jeans.

Spellbinders Die storage Album-Anything but a card!

Happy Saturday Everyone! This week the Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show is "Anything but a Card" and this is what I created for that Challenge.
My newest addiction is Spellbinders Dies. I bought my first one a couple of weeks ago and love it! I'm now up to 3 sets and decided to make an album to store them in.  I cut thick 12x12 chipboard into 12x6 strips for the covers, covered them with Tim Holtz luscious Shabby Papers, took different sheets from his Shabby Stash and folded each sheet in half length wise to create my pages. I then cut strips of magnetic sheeting with my xyron and adhered them to the pages. Inside the front cover I created a pocket to hold the labels for each die set until I know by heart which sets I have. I decorated the front cover with some Say it with Pearls bling by Prima, and finished it off with some of my favorite Tim Holtz metal embellishments. I used Tim Holtz Hitch Fasteners and a hinge cut from Grungeboard using Tim's Hardware findings Die for the Album closure.

and here's a view inside the front cover:
